云登市是澳大利亚发展最快的城市之一。位于墨尔本中央商务区和吉朗之间，面积542平方公里，拥有27公里长的海岸线，毗邻菲利普港湾。

云登市过去20年的地区生产总值（GRP）增长率为5.5%约为整个维州平均水平的两倍。去年2019年的地区生产总值增长更是高达7.31%，维州为3.17%。

维兰庭（Williams Landing）是这座城市最新的区之一，不仅提供居民住宅，还有一个靠近火车站而建的商业、就业中心。

市内还包括Point Cook，Truganina， Hoppers Crossing，Werribee，Tarneit，Wyndham Vale和Manor Lakes。 Little River位于该市的西部边缘。 Truganina和Laverton North的传统制造基地一直是当地经济的主要推动力。该区域地理位置优越，与航空和海港的良好连接已经进行了重大转变，成为墨尔本最重要的物流枢纽。
