本地和国际市场对吉朗高铁项目的交付产生兴趣
联邦交通、城市基础设施、城市和艺术部长保罗·弗莱彻（Paul Fletcher）议员，以及维多利亚州交通基础设施部长雅辛塔·艾伦（Jacinta Allan）议员今天透露，自2月以来，已有70多个国际和地方机构表达了参与建设吉朗高铁、或者参与投融资的兴趣。
该高铁项目将把从吉朗到墨尔本的交通时间缩短到50分钟左右。
弗莱彻部长说，这对吉朗高铁项目的进展是个好消息，该项目将在几年内涉及对吉朗走廊的一部分进行重大基础设施升级。
弗莱彻部长说：“吉朗快铁是许多重要的基础设施项目之一，这些资金是联邦政府创纪录的总投资约1100亿澳元，为期10年的基础设施建设计划的一部分。”
“联邦政府承诺投入20亿澳元，帮助启动这个急需的项目，该项目将提供更频繁，更快捷的铁路服务，并帮助在吉朗和墨尔本之间往返的通勤者更快，更安全地回家。”

艾伦部长说，很高兴看到本地和国际公司的回应，因为这给项目很重要，将创造数千个就业机会。
艾伦女士说：“早期的市场接触对于这种规模的项目很重要，众多机构表达参与的兴趣，也给提升了政府在这个项目上的信心。”
“吉朗快铁项目的第一阶段预计将提供2800多个工作岗位，这将为维州发展最快的区域提供应有的更好的铁路服务。”
州政府相关部门也在寻求技术顾问，以通过工程、沟通等多种形式来为该项目提供支持，来对项目进行详细的计划，完善整个项目所涉及的范围、时间和预期成本。
一项广泛的实地勘察工作也有望在今年晚些时候开始，来更好地了解铁路走廊沿线的现有地况。
吉朗高铁将通过Werribee走廊，预计将穿越西区蓬勃发展的Williams Landing, Point Cook等区。
吉朗高铁第一阶段的建设预计将于2023年开始，该项目已获得总计40亿澳元的拨款，其中维州和联邦政府各拨款20亿澳元。
