RDF Strategic Plan
I am pleased to be supporting the motion to endorse this Wyndham RDF Strategic Plan.
It makes sense for us to recover more value from waste, and overtime to landfill less waste.
I would like to note that the current problems in the recycling sector do not sit with one level of government. So the types of partnerships and collaboration that are mentioned in this Strategic Plan will be quite important.
And this means that the Council will need to regard the RDF as a business that delivers economic as well as environmental outcomes.
I believe there will be strong community support for the actions throughout this Strategic Plan to help us achieve these goals.
I’m looking forward to seeing we’re making progress in this field.
