Williams Landing Library Lounge opened. A good start, but more works still needs to be done.
Williams Landing Library Lounge, a much smaller version of the originally planned Williams Landing Community and Library, was opened to the public on Tuesday, 16 August 2022.
A wide range of activities, including Rhyme Time, Lego Club, Baby Time, Kids Club, Adult Social Hour, Creative Corner, English Conversation Cafe and Movie Club, are available throughout the week.
This is a good start, but more work still needs to be done.
During the 2016-2020 term, the Wyndham City Council identified a wide range of services that are either missing or need close attention for the Williams Landing community.
That includes:
- Library Services
- Community Activity Space
- Family Services
- Maternal and Child Health
- Middle Year Services
- Youth Services
- Government School
- Arts and Culture
- Aged care
- Disability Services
- Family Violence
These local services have been missing for Williams Landing since the beginning of the suburb (about 15 years now).
Council committed to the original Williams Landing Library and Community Centre project in the 2018-2019 budget as a key project to address the above missing services.
The local government is responsible for providing those basic community services to our residents.
