Pop-up library and library kiosk coming to Williams Landing

Saturday, 7 March, 2020

Council is working on finding the right location for the much-needed library and community centre in Williams Landing.

This exciting new facility will be a significant addition to the local community, providing the community with access to library and community services.

It will deliver lifelong learning opportunities in a modern, well-equipped facility; provide a new venue to host a diversity of community activities; and provide library services to people who have not been able to access these due to the absence of a library branch in Williams Landing.

Before the new library and community centre is complete, council will be running a pop-up Library at the Williams Landing Shopping Centre during the school holidays.

Residents will be able to join the library, borrow from a limited collection and attend children’s programs free of charge.

Also, look out for the Williams Landing Library Kiosk coming soon.

Once installed, the kiosk will:

  • Enable Library members to collect items that have been requested from the Library
  • Enable Library members to return items they have previously borrowed from the Library
  • Provide access to eLibrary services
  • Deliver regular programs for pre-school and primary school-age children
  • Provide limited access to Library staff to assist with memberships and  information requests
