Wyndham’s Future City Strategy, Shaping A Smarter Wyndham

Thursday, 25 October, 2018

A new initiative to map out how Wyndham City will use new and innovative digital technologies into the future has been launched.

The Future City Strategy will be a blueprint for how Wyndham City will continue to use technology and data in our bid to be a Smart City.

The first step in developing this plan is to understand and assess community thoughts on technologies, to do this a short survey has been launched and is now out for public feedback.

Smart City Portfolio Holder, Cr Aaron An, said the Future City Strategy aims to ensure Wyndham remains connected, globally fluent and innovative.

“Advances in technology and data analysis provide us with the tools to better understand and manage the functioning of our city and to plan and deliver services more effectively. Similarly, we need to understand and respond to the challenges faced by our City through technological change.”

Cr An said he was looking forward to working with community members to understand their priorities.

“This important strategic road map will inform how technology and innovation solutions can address our urban challenges and shape how our citizens, visitors and businesses work, play and live.  I encourage everyone in the community to take part in the survey to help promote and shape this strategy”.

An online survey is available now at www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/futurecity. Community consultation is open till 14 December 2018.

There will also be two community sessions, for which you can register online at https://theloop.wyndham.vic.gov.au/future-city

The City of Wyndham Future City Strategy is expected to be launched in June 2019.
