Social and Economic Inclusion Taskforce
I’m pleased to speak in support of the establishment of the Social and Economic Inclusion Taskforce.
A diverse and healthy local economy means that people get the opportunities they need to live full and meaningful lives.
Having a job can make a significant difference for individuals and families who are new to our community.
We need to do more in this regard in order to make Wyndham a world-class city. The establishment of this task force is a bold step in that direction.
Being able to be a part of a vibrant, local economy through employment or business ownership also contributes to community harmony and social cohesion. The connections we make through workplaces often help create the conditions of success in other parts of community life.
I believe that all levels of government, together with business and community can play a role in creating the opportunity for a new cycle of inclusive economic growth.
The establishment of this task force represents a new innovation in working together to create change.
