Better Parking For Werribee South Boat Ramp

Wyndham City is introducing changes to make it easier to park at the Werribee South Boat Ramp.

Old manual ticket machines for parking will be replaced by an online system that will allow users to purchase tickets using the PayStay app on their phone.

Wyndham City’s Smart City portfolio holder, Cr Aaron An, said the new technology would improve the user experience for visitors to the boat ramp.

“The introduction of PayStay parking at the Werribee South Boat Ramp is a great example of how Council is using new technology to make day to day life easier for our residents,” Cr An said.

“The old ticket machines that are currently used at the boat ramp have stopped working in the past, creating frustration for users. With this new system, which is used in areas like Melbourne’s CBD, people will be able to use their phone to pay for parking or purchase a ticket from Council in advance.”

“Best of all, they will have access to customer support every Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9pm, which will help to make the transition easier.”

“We expect to introduce PayStay parking at the Werribee South Boat Ramp by mid-October. Signage at the boat ramp will be updated to reflect the changes and Wi-Fi will be installed to ensure users can access the PayStay app and Council’s website.”

“Council is also in the process of writing to all annual boat ramp ticket holders to notify them of the opportunity to renew their permit without having to visit the Council offices. Annual permit holders will be able to purchase their permits online via Council’s website.”
