Annual Report 2019/20

Location:

The past 12 months have been challenging for Wyndham with a continuing influx of new residents and the COVID 19 pandemic. The report provides a comprehensive overview of our performance, there are a couple of projects I would like to highlight.

  • Besides the over $100m invested in basic community infrastructure needs, Council adopted the Social and Economic Inclusion Framework to open up pathways for local people to fully participate in work and community life,
  • Council delivered the first year of the WYNovation Plan with a suite of programs including the WYNnovation Summit, Masterclass, Industry Roundtable, Business Lunch, and Pitch Competition,
  • And we have finalised a number of important plans and strategies that will shape our direction in the coming years.

I’m also pleased that Council has continued to advocate on the many issues and service gaps affecting our community. From schools, to kindergarten funding, transport, buses, and local jobs

I'd like to thank my fellow councillors and staff for all the work on these projects and many more during the past 12 months.
