Wyndham City Awarded for Digital Engagement Tool

Friday, 17 May, 2019

Wyndham City took away a top award at the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia awards last week (9th May).

Wyndham City’s Smart City portfolio holder Cr Aaron An said he felt proud that Council’s Capital Works Digital Dashboard won the prestigious Excellence in Innovation Award.

“I suggested we should have something like this to improve transparency at the start of this term of council.” Cr An said.

I am delighted that our dedicated staff members delivered this project and it is recognised by professional body and that the community has access to this award-winning tool,”

Cr An said the Capital Works Dashboard delivered up-to-date program information on all of Council’s capital works through an interactive map on the Wyndham City website.

“Any member of the community can view the projects in various stages of development such as planning, design, tender and construction, and it allows them to keep watch of any externally funded works,” he said.

“Our staff members including web developers, designers and those who take the time to update the information every single week are committed to providing a transparent and high-quality service for the community.”

“I am pleased that since September last year, the community has been connecting with us on this tool by viewing the interactive map and engaging with Council on the works in their area and offering informed feedback.”

“We are committed to continuing to make it as easy as possible for the community to see the work we are doing and freely engage with us in a positive space.”

“This way we can understand what our residents want and together we can build the type of Wyndham we all want to live in.”
