Werribee South ramp tickets go online

Wyndham council will replace the manual ticket machines at the Werribee South Boat Ramp with an online system.

Wyndham’s smart city portfolio holder Cr Aaron An said the council would scrap the ticket machines in favour of the PayStay app which allows motorists to buy parking tickets on a mobile phone.

Cr An said the ticket machines would sometimes stop working, creating frustration for users.

“With this new system, which is used in areas like Melbourne’s CBD, people will be able to use their phone to pay for parking or purchase a ticket from council in advance,” he said.

“We expect to introduce PayStay parking at the Werribee South Boat Ramp by mid-October.

“Signage at the boat ramp will be updated to reflect the changes and wi-fi will be installed to ensure users can access the PayStay app and council’s website.”

Cr An said the council would also write to all annual boat ramp ticket holders to notify them of the opportunity to renew their permits via the council’s website, rather than visiting the council’s offices.
