Summary

A range of social cohesion and employment pathways initiatives are being joined together in a focused effort to support social and economic inclusion in Wyndham. Funding sources have been identified and partnerships with key organsiations have been established. A Social and Economic Inclusion Taskforce is proposed to bring together business, community and government to guide the development of current and future initiatives.

Recommendation

1. That Council endorse the establishment of a Social and Economic Inclusion Taskforce representative of business, community and government to provide input into the development of a range of initiatives designed to support local people to participate in work and community life.
2. That Council delegate the appointment of an independent chair to the CEO.
3. That Council appoint Councillors, ___________, to the Social and Economic Inclusion Taskforce for the remainder of the Council term.
